This is very old…maybe someday I’ll take a new photo of myself that doesn’t also include my children crawling all over me.

Bienvenue!

I'm Amanda. I’ve been designing, copy editing, and proofreading books since 2010. I also spent several years as a bookbinder in Vancouver and Montréal. I have an MA from Emerson College in Boston, where I studied publishing and writing, and a BA from Hobart & William Smith Colleges, where I studied writing and art. Right now I’m at McGill for a second master’s in Information Studies, so hopefully I will soon be working as a librarian.

I have been passionate about books since I was a child. I've always loved reading, both as a way to escape reality and as a way to confront it. And I love books as objects—the heft, the thickness of the paper, the experience of holding a book as we read. In the publishing world, I am particularly drawn to progressive non-fiction and children's literature, and I love working with publishers who aim to lift up the voices of people whose stories have been traditionally ignored, and who experiment with alternative selling models (as in, not Amazon).

Feel free to reach out with editorial/design projects and library ideas (jobs!), or take a look at some of the books I’ve worked on.
